We went to Alberta for our holidays this year. It's the first time that we've done anything that didn't revolve around visiting extended family. Simply a vacation for us. We had such a great time together as a family. I think that we've just set a precedent for future vacationing.
We started with a road trip to Drumheller where we visited the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Then we headed to Calgary to stay with friends and go to the Zoo. The rest of the week we wandered around pointing and gawking like the tourists we we're... it was great.
We also managed to squeeze in a couple really good visits with relatives that we see next to never.
All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.

Tire Swing
|

Everyday as Ian and I walk back from his morning at school he asks to go to the playground to swing on the tire swing. Even in the winter he wanted to. It was so much fun. And seemed to carry with it a sense of liberation, considering the long cold winter and what it looked like a little over a month ago around here. (See a couple entries ago)

Spring hits the playground.
|
|
Last week there were two days back to back where winter and spring had it out. Winter finally caved. The morning that I took these shots there were still large areas of ice covering the field behind Ian's school. By noon there was nothing left but wet. This week the water's all gone.
What're the odds we get snow May long?

We had a really good time this past Sunday at the Gordon's. I feel like I've come home.
